"Transformers: Dark of the Moon" helps Paramount top 2011's box office

2011 was a fantastic year for films at Paramount Studios. While not all of its films were smash hits, enough of were to propel them to the top of the box office charts. According to The Chicago Tribune:

"On the strength of blockbusters such as "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" and "Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol," the studio took in a record $5.17 billion worldwide, Paramount announced on Tuesday."

Every year the Academy Awards nominate films they deem exceptional. According to Reuters, this year's race will be very heavy on the science fiction and fantasy arena.
