Stocks rise thanks to "The Fallen"

According to Reuters, the runaway success of "Transformers Revenge of the Fallen" has helped the stocks of several theater chains rise as high as ten percent. Shares of Paramount and Viacom have also risen thanks to the success of the film. IMAX has also benefitted with a nineteen percent increase. We're still in a recession, so such favorable numbers in an industry that has been declining are encouraging to business owners and analysts alike. "Transformers" has even defied expert predictions.

"Revenge of the Fallen" sets box office records around the world

The LA Times reports that "Transformers Revenge of the Fallen" has broken box office records, earning a reported $387 million in worldwide ticket sales, with $201.2 million of that earned in the US. According to the article, the movie "...placed No. 1 in all 58 countries where it opened.". This is impressive as the film has been receiving less than stellar reviews, and it's a sequel, which do not always do as well as their predecessors.

Bumblebee kicks butt and takes names...on the sales floor of Chevy dealerships

According to USAToday, sales for the 2010 Camaro featured in "Revenge of the Fallen" as Bumblebee's vehicle mode have been so incredible that the manufacturer is struggling to keep up with demand. The article reports "...some buyers paying $500 to $2,500 more than the sticker price.". This is a rare occurrence in today's world where the economy is in a recession and unemployment rates have reached levels not seen in over a decade.

Canada.com interviews Josh Duhamel

Josh Duhamel is known to Transformers fans as Lennox, who led a small group of surviving soldiers across the desert in the first "Transformers" film. Duhamel returns in "Revenge of the Fallen" once again leading soliders against the Decepticon threat. Canada.com has posted an interview with the star. The article notes many facts about Duhamel including "...Duhamel and his girlfriend, Stacy Ferguson, a.k.a. Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas, were married Jan. 10 in Malibu.

LA Times interviews "Revenge of the Fallen" fx guru John Frazier

In the world of Michael Bay, you need explosions. The bigger they are, the better and to help bring the battles in "Revenge of the Fallen" to life, Michael Bay recruited effects meister John Frazier. The LA Times recently interviewed Frazier who discussed the pyrotechnics used in "Revenge of the Fallen". Accoring to the article "...his 2007 summer movie blockbuster features the biggest explosion ever filmed with live actors, according to special effects supervisor John Frazier.".
