Game News: Hasbro Closes Backflip Studios

According to an article in Venture Beat, Hasbro has made the decision to close Backflip Studios, the studio who worked on the mobile "Transformers: Earth Wars" game. The source of this appears to be post on LinkedIn (and later confirmed via an email to Venture Beast from Hasbro). However, nothing about this has been posted on Backflip's web site or Twitter as of today.

Backflip Studios was started in 2009. It found success with games such as Paper Toss and Ninjump. It is also well known for its popular Dragonvale game. In time, the company's success caught Hasbro's attention and they formed an alliance with the company. Unfortunately they have not been able to find a beneficial financial path forward.

That said, Space Ape has let Ben's World of Transformers know that despite Backflip's closure, "Transformers: Earth Wars" will continue to be managed by Space Ape and live on for (hopefully) years to come!
