Toy News: Japanese Band Bump of Chicken Announces Transformers Collaboration

Bump of Chicken is a Japanese rock group based in Sakura, Chiba, Japan. They frequently have top ten hits and the group has recorded over twenty albums since they came together in 1994. One of the band members is Yoshifumi Naoi aka "Chama". Chama is also a Transformers fan, and now he has teamed up with Takara Tomy to release what will presumably be a limited edition redeco of Legends Class Bumblebee and Exo-Suit Spike.

Announced via Chama's Twitter feed, this figure will come in retro packaging featuring a "Sonic Blue" redeco of Bumblebee. The redeco of Exo-Suit Spike is meant to represent Chama himself, with the packaging referring to him as "Exo-Suit Chama"! Also shown in the post are Transformers 35th Anniversary T-shirts with artwork featuring Sonic Blue Bumblebee and the band. No word yet on just how this figure will be available but once I find out you can be sure I'll post about it.
