Toy News: Takara Tomy Mall Reveals "Masterpiece" Spinout
Last night Takara Tomy Mall posted a listing announcing an unexpected but very welcome addition to the roster of Masterpiece figures: Spinout! Wait, who?
Spinout is a redeco of MP-39 Sunstreaker featuring a red and black deco. This is based directly off of a Diaclone variant of the G1 Sunstreaker figure. The name "Spinout" was actually a working name for Sunstreaker before his name was finalized, so using this name is a homage to that piece of lore. This is a fun follow up to Cordon, who was also based on a Diaclone variant of Sunstreaker!
Here is the official product description (as translated via Google Translate with spelling notations):
An homage item assault rescuer spinout of the Transformer's predecessor series "Diacron" appears in the MP series! The model is based on the coloring and parts specifications of the car robot NO.1 Countach LP500S type.
A new transformer that transforms from the "Supercar" LP500S made by Lamborghini Co., a completely new character of Masterpiece brand, assault rescuer Spinout, excellent mobility performance already exhibited by SunStree car[sic], Cordon, vehicle mode While retaining the substantial features of the actual vehicle, the variation specification of the old Diaclon[sic] is reproduced.
