Movie News: A Dulwich Gallery installation is more than meets the eye

On June 9, 2017 visitors to the Dulwich Picture Gallery in the UK saw some curious figures appearing in a painting: a Transformer! Many visitors recognized the figure as a Transformer right away, while others ascribed it to being a monster or something from 2001: A Space Odyssey. All however were taken aback by seeing such an unexpected figure in a gallery painting.

In fact, this was a promotion for the upcoming film "The Last Knight"! This stunt follows on the heels of the "Secret Past" trailer which posits that Transformers have been part of human history for a long time. It is interesting to see how some people actually rationalize the Transformer (based on Ironhide's design) in the painting as something else. It shows how easily people can dismiss something if it does not fit their understanding of history, which makes the point that in the world of the live action films, humans could easily do the same even if Transformers did appear in photos and paintings from the past.
