Movie News: Official photos of "Secret Past" TV Spot pictures
Yesterday Paramount Pictures released a new TV Spot for "The Last Knight". Titled "Secret Past", the focus of this spot was the role Transformers have played throughout human history. Part of this trailer's hook was taking historical artwork and integrating Transformers into it. In other cases there were "historical" photos that featured Transformers in them. I wrote up an analysis of some of these yesterday. Now thanks to the Official Transformers Facebook page we now have a more crisp look at some of these paintings and photos:
- Four Cybertronian Knights in part of the Bayeux Tapestry.
- A Transformer present at the Krakatoa eruption.
- An Autobot that looks a lot like Hound in the Revolutionary War.
- A robot with a head that resembles Bumblebee's in a World War setting.
- A robot that uses Ironhide's CG model with troops on the battlefield in another World War 1 setting.
Of course, these are at best, easter eggs and promotional images and not meant to 100% cement canon. For instance, it is known Ironhide did not arrive on Earth until 2007, so whatever robot was working with the World War 1 troops was definitely someone else. We know Transformers share body forms (Seekers anyone?) so with a black and white image from a distance, you can use your imagination on who is who.
BWTF has mirrored the images here for you to check out.
TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT opens in theaters June 23
Directed by: Michael Bay
Starring: Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Anthony Hopkins, Laura Haddock, Jerrod Carmichael, Isabela Moner and Santiago Cabrera
The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).
There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.
