In the latter days of Generation One, Hasbro tried many new gimmicks to bring new life into the Transformers toy line. Once dominant in the toy aisles, by the late 80's Transformers was no longer the "hot toy" on the market. One of these attempts was a sub-line called "Action Masters", featuring non-transforming figures that came with transforming vehicles or partners. The packaging for these toys featured lavish artwork, but all packaging starts with concepts.

Many years ago as I wandered through the streets of Brooklyn I stopped at a small magazine shop. I had not expected to find much there (in fact, if I recall correctly I went in there for potato chips). Much to my surprise there was a Transformers comic book in Spanish! I bought it and put it away and honestly I have not thought about it in well over a decade.

DVD News: Shout! Factory to reissue complete the G1 Japanese series

In 1987 the American version of the Transformers cartoon stopped producing new animated episodes of the original "Generation One" series which left man fans without new entertainment to go along with their toys. However in Japan the adventure continued with three full animated series: Headmasters, Masterforce and Victory. About six years ago, fan dreams came true when these shows were put out by Shout! Factory in a complete boxed set (they were also available as individual shows).

For weeks now Space Ape has been hinting at new characters coming to "Earth Wars". Check out the attached preview images for a sneak peek at these characters coming to the game in an upcoming event (not this weekend though). Collectible News: New Transformers Hallmark ornament and itty bittys coming in 2017

One of the mainstays at New York Comic-Con is Hallmark. While best known for greeting cards, the company has also become a creator of collectibles over the years in the form of both their ornaments and more recently their plush "itty bittys" line. At NYCC 2016 their booth displayed both an image (via a cardboard cutout) of the 2017 Christmas ornament: Soundwave! Like the three previous ornaments this will be modeled on the G1 action figure.
