Fellow fan Yenting Lai has posted several photos of the upcoming Generations Selects Star Convoy figure, showing off more of this figure than we have seen via official sources so far. These photos show off the packaging for the figure and a nice close up look at both the cab/robot figure and the combined "Star Convoy" form.
Previews World has posted a new listing for Masterpiece MP-38 Burning Convoy. This figure is a redeco of the Masterpiece MP-32 Optimus Primal figure in red and gold colors based on his appearance in the Beast Wars II theatrical movie! Check out the official photos and description below:
Back in June it was revealed that Takara Tomy would be releasing Lio Convoy as a Masterpiece figure! Originally featured in the "Beast Wars II" series in Japan, this character has received the homage treatment several times over the years, but this is the first time in a while he has received an original design/release all his own!
Years ago Ben's World of Transformers suffered a catastrophic loss of many image files and some reviews. Over the years I have tried to restore some of these whenever I could. Today I present to you my updated review for Big Convoy from "Beast Wars Neo"! In addition to new photos I have added a small but of updated commentary to the review. Enjoy!
The "Masterpiece" line has shown itself to be willing to jump back and forth between Generation One and the "Beast Wars" era of Transformers in its character choices. However, the latest addition to the roster is a bit of a surprise: Lio Convoy! While several characters from the "Beast Wars" era have been part of "Masterpiece" line, they have generally been from the CG animated series from the 90's and not the Anime shows from Japan.
When Generation One was nearing its end, Japan released a set of Cybertrons (aka Autobots) who could each become a robot, vehicle and base before they all combined into the giant "Big Powered" base! Now these classic Japanese characters are being brought into the 21st Century thanks to Takara Tomy. Today Takara Tomy listed a new version of "Big Powered" on their web site along with stock photos!
