2015: Robots in Disguise & KREON Warriors

Kre-O begins to fade away, with many of the figures winding up foreign or discount markets. Toys R Us no longer carries the series. Instead discounters such as Lot-Less and T.J. Maxx become the main places to find these figures in limited release. In countries such as the Philippines however the items are readily available at retail.

KRE-O
2013: Beast Hunters

Kre-O's focus this year was the "Beast Hunters" toy line, featuring dragon-like Predacons facing off against Autobots. Meanwhile the Micro-Changers line expands to include Micro-Changer Combiners - multi-packs of figures that can be disassembled and reassembled into individual team members and Combiner robots based on characters from the 1985-89 era of Transformers.

KRE-O
2012: Quest for Energon

Kre-O continues under the "Quest for Energon" line. Sets contain translucent "Energon" pieces that can be assembled into larger weapons. This year also introduced Micro-changers, blind packed Kreons which could be disassembled and reassembled from one form to another. Micro-Changers did come with codes printed on the bags allowing you to determine which character was in the bag, but this would be eliminated in later reissues of these figures.

KRE-O
2011

This is the year Kre-O was introduced to the world. At first it was a mass release, with many major retailers including Toys R Us, Target and Wal-Mart carrying the line. This was Hasbro's second attempt at a "brick build" toy line after 2003's unsuccessful "Built to Rule" sets.

Video: KREO "Combiner" Bumblebee and Optimus Prime short

in KRE-O, News

The Official Transformers Facebook page has posted a really interesting (and funny) KRE-O video. It features Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Megatron. However the Optimus and Bumblebee are of figures that were shown at Toy Fair a year ago, but never actually released. The Megatron featured appears to be the "Battle Changer" Megatron, which has only seen limited release, check out the video in the embed below:

Toy Review: "KRE-O" Battle Changers Grimlock

Grimlock is just the right combination of dedication, stubborness and raw power to be one of the most potent warriors in the Autobot army. With his battle skill he also makes a great leader for the powerful Dinobots! Check out my first "Battle Changer" review: Grimlock!
