As we approach the end of September, the next live action Transformers film "Bumblebee" is less than three months away so Paramount has decided to drop a new trailer for the film. This trailer features the updated, 1980's inspired designs of a couple key characters and gives us more action from the Decepticons. Check it out in the embed below:
Back in May to June, McDonalds released several Transformers Happy Meal Toys in other countries (including Russia). These were super deformed style figures based on "Cyberverse" designs. Now, these toys have finally been released at McDonalds in the United States. However, they are flying under the "Bumblebee" movie banner! Check out the commercial below featuring Bumblebee himself:
BWTF affiliate retailer Entertainment Earth has listed the first wave of figures from the upcoming "Bumblebee" live action movie! This list is extensive so I have prioritized it with action figures towards the top and middle and other toys like role play items towards the bottom. All Hasbro stock images are courtesy of Entertainment Earth. Note: some of the figures have "code names" like previous Transformers love action movie toys hence names such as "Cougar" and "Radar". Remember, by purchasing via the links below you will be helping to support BWTF!
Several weeks ago Dengeki Hobby released photos of the upcoming "Legendary Optimus Prime" figure. This appears to take the core design of the "Age of Extinction" Evasion Optimus Prime figure, makes it larger and changes it to incorporate more functionality including a mouthplate that can be moved to reveal the mouth underneath and weapon storage in the back. Even better, the figure is scaled to be able to pull Masterpiece Optimus Prime's (MP-10) trailer!
David Sobolov is a name that most Transformers fans will be familiar with. The voice actor's history with Transformers goes back to "Beast Wars" where he played the Maximal Depth Charge. Years later he would lend his voice to the creepy Shockwave from "Transformers Prime". His other credits include "Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters", "Ultimate Spider-Man" and the current "Guardians of the Galaxy" cartoon where he plays Drax. Now the actor has confirmed his role as Blitzwing in the upcoming live action "Bumblebee" movie!
The Hasbro Youtube Channel has posted a commercial for the upcoming "Energon Igniter" action figures for the live action "Bumblebee" movie. The commercial shows off the play pattern of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee where inserting an Energon "Igniter" cube allows the vehicle to move in vehicle mode. While the commercial says the cube can also be used in robot mode, it does not show the actual action feature in that form. Check out the commercial in the embed below:
Screen Used is a site dedicated to selling movie props and one of their latest entries may be of interest to Transformers fans. In their current catalog they list the Bumblebee Willys Jeep, the vehicle used for Bumblebee's vehicle mode before he takes on his VW Beetle form! The description also gives us a bit of a clue as to story elements in the film (SPOILERS):
San Diego Comic-Con is a place where upcoming movies make a big splash, and yesterday it was time for the "Bumblebee" movie to shine! Early in the day Twitter user @badtasteit posted a short video of John Cena walking through the crowds at the convention in full Bumblebee costume! Check it out in the embed below:
The action figure reveals keep rolling along leading to SDCC! Geekdad has posted several images from the upcoming lineup of "Bumblebee" Movie toys.
