In 2018 Walmart released an exclusive line of Generation One reissues. These were called "Vintage G1" figures and featured some of the same figures previously released by Takara in the "Encore" series.
In a surprise release for late 2019, Walmart has released a new addition to the Vintage G1 line up: Astrotrain! While his Siege counterpart begins to trickle onto shelves this release gives fans a chance to own the figure that inspired several versions of the character over the years. Like other Vintage G1 releases, the figure is in packaging that reproduces the G1 packaging.
Back in September 2019, Hasbro released a (then) Hasbro Pulse exclusive three pack featuring Gurafi, Noizu and Frenzy. This special set sold out very quickly on Hasbro Pulse. To add insult to injury, a certain number of pre-orders were cancelled due to some mysterious incident with the stock (some rumors say in package stock was damaged, other rumors say they simply ran out).
Hasbro has released its cassette 3-pack featuring two of the legendary Japanese exclusive cassettes - Gurafi and Noizu! As a bonus, Frenzy is also in the set with a slightly different deco than his Walmart release. Check out my review and gallery of this set.
The Walmart exclusive "Vintage G1" line of G1 reissues have been a hit with many fans and it looks like Hasbro intends to keep the line going at least into 2020. Earlier this morning the Official Transformers Facebook Page posted a new poll for fans to vote on which figure should be a reissue in 2020. The choices are Blaster (no indication of any cassettes being included) or Skywarp. Check out the poll embedded below and get your vote in!

Thanks to a post on Weibo, we now have photos of what appear to be upcoming "Vintage G1" reissues of Rumble, Ravage, Frenzy and Laserbeak! Interestingly, Laserbeak's weapons appear to have been shortened, likely due to safety reasons.
