Most Transformers find that smelly, mucky environments clog up their circuitry. Not the half croc, half turtle Terragator. He prefers it. Terragator is most at home in the swamp lands and sewers. Part of the Predacon elite amphibious warriors, his specialty is land/ water assault. In robot mode he wields an impenetrable shield and his hand reveals an awesome weapon.

Beast Mode:
Terragator is one of the second wave of regular sized Fuzors. His beast mode is that of a crocodile and a turtle. Of the many Fuzor combinations, this one works well overall. This toy also incorporates a nice new type of transformation. His main color scheme is green, white, brown and blue.

As a beast, Terragator is the fierce combination of a turtle and crocodile. The mode basically comes down to a crocodile with a spikey turtle shell on it's back. It looks pretty dangerous and the paint job done on the shell is first rate with different shades of brown and white spikey edges. Terragator's "gimmick" is a mouth snapping feature. When one pushes his tail in, his beast mouth opens and closes! His legs can move, but not too much because of the shell.

Transformation to Robot Mode:
Terragator's shell is removed revealing most of his robot mode parts. The tail and rear legs detach and a dual blaster folds out to form a cannon. The front legs of the beast mode twist around and fold back to form the robot legs. The waist slides down, slides across and twists part way and becomes Terragator's lower body. Terragator's two arms fold up and then swing down. The robot head then folds up. The left arm holds the shield with a peg in hole system. The cannon fits into his other hand in the same way.

Robot Mode:
In robot mode, Terragator is one of the more "robotic" Beast Wars Transformers toys in appearance. His chest, upper arms, waist and upper legs all reveal his true robot nature. The molding of his chest is very well done showing wires and mechanical parts. His shield promises to be an effective one as it covers most of his body when he holds it in front of himself. It can also be held to his side. His cannon is huge and if held directly in front of him can make him very heavy tipping him over. In robot mode, Terragator has forteen points of articulation including a nice double jointed arm (to hold the shield in different positions) and waist rotation.

Final Thoughts:
A very nice piece. A

Updated Thoughts (9/10/15):
Terragator remains one of my favorite Fuzors in the "Beast Wars" line. In beast mode I love how rich the paint job on his shell is. In robot mode he really is a fantastic combination of organic and mechanical details which really pushes the "techno organic" nature of the character. I also love the wackiness of his weapon being formed by his tail and rear beast mode legs. It was really a time when designers thought "out of the box" in design and this is one fantastic example.
