Movie News: "Rise of the Beasts" Release Date Delayed

11/11/21

Transformers fans who were looking forward to seeing Autobots, Decepticons, Maximals, Predacons and Terrorcons mixing it up on the big screen will have to wait an additional year.  According to Deadline, Rise of the Beasts has been moved from June 24, 2022 all the way to June 9, 2023.  No reason was cited for this move, however the Cybertronians are not alone.  A new Star Trek film that had been in development has also been moved from June 9, 2023 to December 22, 2023, giving Paramount two potential "tent pole" films in 2023.  It is possible this was a strategic move since 2022 already has at least two big films coming from the studio including Top Gun Maverick and Mission Impossible 7 so they may be trying to spread out their "big action" films across 2022-23.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure and introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons.  The film is directed by Steven Caple Jr. and stars Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback.
