Walmart and Hasbro Pulse have posted pre-orders for the R.E.D. [Robot Enhanced Design] Optimus Primal and Reformatting Megatron figures! Optimus Primal is based on his appearance in the 90's Beast Wars cartoon while Megatron calls back to the fateful scene where Unicron begins changing Megatron into Galvatron. In 2017 Hasbro released a sub-line of figures for its Robots in Disguise 2015 line called Combiner Force. The idea was a focus on the Combiner gimmick with some characters combining as pairs while others performed more traditional combinations made up of four characters. One of these figures is "Ultra Bee", who was the combination of Bumblebee, Grimlock, Sideswipe and Strongarm. These figures came and went quite some time ago, which is why my discovery today confounded me. Upon visiting the Walmart store in Linden, NJ I came across this:
The Buzzworthy Bumblebee line continues to surprise fans. A few weeks ago In Demand Toys revealed Buzzworthy Bumblebee "Origin Bumblebee", representing the character as he appeared on Cybertron in G1 complete with his "flying saucer" style vehicle form. Now the figure has begun to hit stores. A few days ago photos and video leaked online of a two pack featuring a retool of Kingdom Cheetor as Ravage based on his appearance in the legendary Beast Wars "The Agenda" two parter and a reissue of G1 Ravage. Last night (Eastern Time) was a rather exciting time to be online if you are a Transformers fan. Overnight, some leaks found their way online showing what appears to be two upcoming Transformers Multi-Packs.
Thanks to listings on Amazon Japan, we now have our first look at the next two figures in the Premium Finish series. The next two will be Megatron from the 2007 live action Transformers film and Siege Ultra Magnus. Both feature new decos that are intended to bring the figures more in line with their on-screen appearances. Megatron is priced on Amazon Japan at ¥6,160 (about $55.65 USD) while Ultra Magnus is priced at ¥8,917 (about $80.55). Both figures are due out in Japan on December 29, 2021.
Yesterday it was revealed that Hasbro would be releasing Generations Selects Leader Class Galvatron in G1 toy inspired colors. This is also inspired by the "Galvatron II" character seen in the Marvel UK comic books in the 80's.
