The success of the Transformers brand in the 80's led to a mad rush for any toy that could transform from one thing to another. Fast food company McDonalds was no exception. As part of Happy Meal promotions in 1987, 1989 and 1990 they released several series of "Changeables", figures that transformed from robots (and later, dinosaurs) to McDonalds food items! For many Transformers fans, these figures inspire a lot of affection.
