Toy News: Takara Tomy Announces "Transformers Overgear"

Takara Tomy has officially announced a new Transformers sub-line called "Overgear" in a dramatic way: a new animated video!  The short video features Ironhide getting away with classified information before the Decepticon Blackout intercepts him!  In an interesting twist, Ironhide is not the live action version or the G1 version.  Instead, this appears to be a new incarnation of the Energon version of the character!  This is partly revealed in the video as he communicates with "Jones" (aka Kicker Jones) and his head design, which calls ba

Art: "Transformers" Evergreen Artwork by Daniel Egan

Artist Daniel Egan has posted several pieces of official Transformers artwork.  These designs represent characters like Arcee and Grimlock in their "Evergreen" designs which are meant to be used on anything from toys to licensed products.  In the case of at least two pieces (Mirage's robot mode and Shockwave's alt mode) they have been used on Authentics packaging!  Check out these beautiful pieces of art mirrored from Egan's Artstation page.

Toy News: "Age of the Primes" Nexus Prime Torso Mode Revealed

When Age of the Primes Nexus Prime was revealed the other day, fans speculated the Prime known for being the originator of the Combiners would have a torso mode that was not revealed on his packaging.  Now thanks to Hasbro designer Mark Maher on Instagram we have confirmation!   In a Reel on Instagram, we get our first look at Nexus in his torso mode connected to the Superion body "frame" with various Combiner limbs attached.  This also gives us a look at his Combiner head, which resembles the one used for the Transformers Collector's Club

Toy News: Possible First Looks at "Age of the Primes" Liege Maximo and Nexus Prime via TFW2005

Thanks to the folks over at TFW2005, fans have their first look at (what appear to be) stock photos of Liege Maximo and Nexus Prime from Age of the Primes!  Liege Maximo appears to be a take on the character's appearance in the Generation 2 comic book.  Meanwhile Nexus appears to take some inspiration from both the Transformers Collector's Club version of the character and the design from Transformers One.   Take these images with a grain of salt until we get an official notification.

Toy News: Official Photos of "One Shall Fall" Megatron

UK Retailer In Demand Toys has posted official stock photography of the upcoming "One Shall Fall" Megatron figure.  This figure is a redeco and retool of the Studio Series 86 Megatron featuring battle damage on the chest and head and it includes the pistol Megatron used to blast Optimus Prime in The Transformers: The Movie.  This will go along with the "One Shall Stand" battle damaged Optimus Prime.  Given the look of the packaging, this will likely be part of Target's "More than Meets the Eye" exclusives in the United St
