In Transformers Cyberworld, kids decide what happens — and it starts with awesome toys like the Megatron Cyber Changers figure. This 4-inch (10 cm) Megatron toy changes from robot to bull mode in just 4 steps that are simple enough for kids ages 6 and up. Give kids' storytelling power a boost with additional Cyberworld toys (each sold separately, subject to availability), and discover unique characters, alt modes, environments, and more. Fans of Transformers collectibles and newcomers alike will love discovering this take on the Transformers universe, where the only constant is change.

Background
In March 2025 Hasbro gave its first look at the Cyberworld Toy Line at Toy Fair 2025. This line is aimed at younger fans offering figures that can interact with one another mostly through their accessories. The line promised to introduce many classic characters in new forms while others would nod to their G1 counterparts. The first online retailer to carry these figures was BWTF affiliate site Entertainment Earth though the line is intended for a more general release. The line is divided into multiple size classes, one of which are the "Cyber Changers". These figures are relatively simple 4 inch figures (about 10.16 cm) often including an accessory. Megatron was one of the first releases in this line.

"In Box (Back)"

Packaging
Megatron is packaged in an open box, similar in style to what past toy lines like Cyberverse have used. The box is mostly white with red and white text. The figure is in robot mode and attached to the cardboard by rubber ties. The section in front of the figure features a horizontal "Transformers" logo (a big change from the past decade or so) along with the "Cyberworld" logo. To the right is artwork of Megatron in beast mode. Behind the figure to the right is artwork of Megatron in robot mode. To the left are a series of symbols showing Megatron having 5 transformation steps and the "6+" age recommendation under it. The back features Megatron in both modes with a symbol showing some palm trees (this will probably make more sense once the cartoon debuts on Youtube). It calls out his 5 step transformation. Below that is a cross sell for Bumblebee and Snarl from the same assortment. Below that is a ton of legal information in multiple languages.

Accessory
Megatron's weapon is a combined axe/short sword weapon. It has a small 5mm handle with a dual bladed axe head on one side and short sword blade on the other. This piece is made of silver plastic with no paint applications. This piece doubles as the tail of the beast mode, attaching to two grooves on the back of the beast mode.

Robot Mode
The Transformers toy line has been rich with interpretations of Megatron over the past couple of decades. Rarely does a year go by without one or two Megatron toys being released. Most of the time these are riffs off of his G1 design usually transforming into tanks. For Cyberworld, the designers decided to go in a very different direction. Megatron's alt mode in this universe is a mechanical bull, so his robot mode looks very different than your typical Megatron figure. There are no hints of his tank or gun modes. Instead, this body is very different featuring horns on the shoulders, a bull head on the chest and spikes on his thighs. This is a cool and savage looking mode with some really nice, sleek lines especially on the legs. The one part of him which is very "Megatron-like" is the head, which clearly models its helmet/face design on Megatron's classic G1 appearance with some embellishments including horns on his head! Overall I love this design and cannot help but find myself wanting to see it used as the foundation of a Generations style figure.

Megatron is made of metallic blue and general plastic. Paint colors include gold, silver and red. The gold is mostly used for the various horn details and his feet while the silver paint is used on parts like his fists and face. His eyes (both beast and robot) are painted red. A very subtle purple Decepticon symbol on his right shoulder. The colors are really beautiful and look great on the figure.

There are six points of articulation on this figure, which is really one of its weaknesses. I understand there are cost considerations (this is basically a Core Class price point figure) but I really would have liked to have at least elbow articulation. Thankfully his legs have ball joints at the hips so he doesn't look entirely stiff in some poses. There are five 5mm ports on this figure, two on the forearms, the fists and one on the back. This allows you to attach accessories from other figures to this one.

Transformation to Beast Mode

  1. Detach the axe weapon and set it aside for now.
  2. Straighten out the arms and legs.
  3. Lift the bull head on the chest up. This will "auto transform" the upper body, collapsing the robot head and forming the front of the beast mode.
  4. Push the legs together near the heels.
  5. Swing the legs up at the hip joints.
  6. Swing the lower legs back to form the rear bull legs.
  7. Attach the axe weapon to the back using the two grooves on top of the bull's rear.

Beast Mode
Right off the bat let me say that if you're looking for a beast mode comparable to say classic Beast Wars figures from the 90's you're going to be disappointed. The aesthetics of this figure involve you using a bit of imagination and the articulation is almost non-existent. I don't mean to be negative but I want to be honest.

That said, I can't help but feel a bit of charm with this beast mode. We don't get a lot of mechanized bulls in the Transformers toy line and the basic aesthetics look great. This bull is all mechanical so there are lots of angles worked into the curved parts of the figure like the front legs. The head has an aggressive appearance and I love the extra horns on his shoulders (which give me some Skullgrin vibes). Where the sculpt takes a bit of imagination to "buy" are the rear legs, which barely have hooves. They're there sculpted into the sides, but most of the rear feet are just the robot knees. By the same token, the front feet are the robot fists but there are hooves sculpted into the sides. This mode shows off more silver plastic and the beast mode head gets some more emphasis so the gold and red colors are much more visually forward.

There are only really two points of articulation in this mode: the front legs. They can move forward and back and that's really it. You can attach accessories to the 5mm ports on the front legs or the back.

Final Thoughts
If you're looking for a figure that is comparable to a Generations toy, Cyberworld is not the line for you. However, if you're into a gimmicky little figure that gives us a unique representation of Megatron, this figure fits the bill. Recommended to a select audience.

Pros

  • Unique interpretation of Megatron.
  • Cool robot mode sculpt.
  • Beautiful colors.
  • Multiple points to attach weaponry from other figure.

Cons

  • Limited articulation in robot mode, and virtually none in beast mode.
  • The tail piece in beast mode can easily be knocked off.
