Background
In March 2025 Hasbro gave its first look at the Cyberworld Toy Line at Toy Fair 2025. This line is aimed at younger fans offering figures that can interact with one another mostly through their accessories. The line promised to introduce many classic characters in new forms while others would nod to their G1 counterparts. The first online retailer to carry these figures was BWTF affiliate site Entertainment Earth and Target would begin receiving these figures in July 2025. The line is divided into multiple size classes, one of which are the "Cyber Changers". These figures are relatively simple 4 inch figures (about 10.16 cm) often including an accessory. Snarl was one of the first releases in this line.

"In Box (Back)"

Packaging
Dinobot Snarl is packaged in an open box, similar in style to what past toy lines like Cyberverse have used. The box is mostly white with red and white text. The figure is in robot mode and attached to the cardboard by rubber ties. The section in front of the figure features a horizontal "Transformers" logo (a big change from the past decade or so) along with the "Cyberworld" logo. To the right is artwork of Snarl in beast mode. Behind the figure to the right is artwork of Snarl in robot mode. To the left are a series of symbols showing Snarl having 4 transformation steps and the "6+" age recommendation under it. The back features Snarl in both modes with a symbol showing some palm trees (representing the jungle setting in the show). It calls out his 4 step transformation. Below that is a cross sell for Galvatron and Sky-Byte from the same assortment. Below that is a ton of legal information in multiple languages.

Accessory
Snarl's weapon is a club made from his tail. The awesome part about this are the spikes and plates running along the length of the weapon. I would imagine that any impact from this weapon would cause some serious damage! This piece has a 5mm peg at the base. It is made of brown plastic with most of the piece painted silver except for the handle.

"Robot Mode (Stock Photo)"

Robot Mode
Snarl's robot mode design is very different than his G1 incarnation. Instead of the front half of his beast mode forming the legs and the tail forming "wings" on his back he looks more like a Junkion who decided to become a Dinobot. You read that right. There are a lot of design elements on this figure which seem to call back to the designs of Junkions like Junkheap. His helmet shape kind of calls back to G1 Snarl, but his eyes are visor eyes (which was seen on many Junkions) and he has spikes all over his body including his left shoulder and knees. On his right shoulder are exhaust pipes even though he does not have a vehicle mode. His lower legs also have tubes running from the front to the sides. This mash up of Junkion and Dinobot is a fascinating design choice and I really like it!

The other aspect of Snarl that really calls back to Junkions is his color scheme. This figure is made up of brown, orange and silver plastic. Sound familiar? They should because you'll see these colors on Junkions like Scraphook. Paint colors include yellow, orange, red and blue. The boldest of these paint applications are on the arms where the left shoulder is painted yellow and the forearms are painted orange. It's a really cool Junkion-esque color scheme that is bright and eye catching.

There are six points of articulation on this figure: the shoulders, hips and knees. The shoulders and hips are ball joints. Articulation is not the strong point of the Cyberworld toys so this is no shock. Still, I wish there was at least elbow articulation on this figure. There are six 5mm ports on this figure, two on the back and two on each arm.

Transformation to Beast Mode

  1. Detach the club weapon and set it aside for now.
  2. Straighten out the arms and legs.
  3. Swing the plates on his back in.
  4. Push the chest down. This will "auto transform" parts be pulling the robot head in and swinging the beast mode head up.
  5. Push the arms in, tabbing them against the chest using the small pegs.
  6. Attach the tail in the back.
  7. Swing the lower legs up and push them into the hip area and against the sides of the tail.

"Beast Mode" (Stock Photo)

Beast Mode
Snarl's beast mode is a somewhat oddly proportioned mechanical Stegosaurus. He has a lot of the expected design elements including a semi-flat head, plates running along the back and spikes on his tail. The odd proportions come into play with the legs. The two front legs are wide and chonky looking while the rear legs look a lost smaller. Also, his robot mode fists are still showing on the front legs, but you'll see bits of beast mode feet detailing on them. The rear legs are similar but smaller. There are many design elements to like here including how the plates and spikes on the figure are shown off nicely here.

This mode shows off more orange color on the back and silver via the plates on his back. This mode also gives us a better look at his beast mode head which features blue eyes.

There really is no articulation in this mode. You can separate the front legs/robot arms from the chest section to move them up and down but that's about it. Fortunately, you can still use the 5mm ports on his forearms to attach additional weapons.

Final Thoughts
Cyberworld Snarl is a fun little figure. Is he worth $10 USD? It would be a bit of a stretch for me to say that but $10 USD isn't quite worth as much in 2025 as it did even five years ago so this is the new reality. For me, I'm fine with the price, but would probably be more enthusiastic if it was about $8 USD instead. That said, I love the design of this character with his Junkion/Dinobot mash up appearance. Recommended if you're into the Cyberworld line but fans looking for a Generations style figure will want to skip this one.

Pros

  • The Junkion/Dinobot inspired design is awesome.
  • Cool deco that also calls back to Junkions.
  • Good number of attachment points for weapons.

Cons

  • Very limited articulation.
