In 1986, the first theatrical Transformers movie was released. Leading up to it there were different types of promotions including a pamphlet/order form that you could get through the mail by sending in an order form, a ticket stub from the film and $1 USD. Of course, Hasbro wanted to promote the toys too, so the order form also allowed you to mail order special "Movie Editions" of Optimus Prime and Megatron, the S.T.A.R.S. Base and/or Reflector. The figures required Robot Points from the G1 toy packaging in addition to the cost of the figure and shipping. The "Movie Editions" allowed you to include a ticket stub from the film in place of Robot Points. My understanding is that these versions of Optimus and Megatron are exceptionally rare. The figures themselves were the standard figures, but they included certificates and a sticker indicating they were "Movie Editions".
I had no idea this pamphlet existed until a couple months ago when I stumbled upon it on ebay. I was able to snag it and now you can check out the scans of this awesome bit of history in the gallery below!
