Rumors have been circulating online for weeks now that some classic Beast Wars figures from the 90's would be reissued via Walmart as part of its "Vintage" line, and now we have official confirmation via the official Transformers Facebook page! Here is the description of the reissues from the Facebook page:
Just revealed by IGN, the beasts are back! (Re)start a vintage Beast Wars collection with Transformers: Vintage Beast Wars figures! Inspired by their classic 90s toys, including figure styling, tooling, packaging, and art from their original 90s releases! (Yes, that means rock blisters 👏👏) Pre-order will be available starting Monday for Rattrap, Cheetor, Optimus Primal, and Trex Megatron exclusively at Walmart. According to IGN, Optimus Primal and Megatron will cost $39.99 while Cheetor and Rattrap will go for $19.99. Pre-orders go up on Monday March 15, 2021 with a release date of August 1, 2021.
Based on the photos below, it looks like there will be some minor deco changes (Optimus Primal's missiles appear a lighter blue than the original and Rattrap's feet are not as pink). Also in the case of Primal and Megatron these appear to be reissues of the original sculpts from the 90's and not the 10th Anniversary editions which featured different heads. As a long time Beast Wars fan I am very excited about these and cannot wait to see that familiar "eye" design on shelf again!
