Toy News: Takara Tomy Reveals Info & Photos of "Missing Link" Ironhide

05/12/26

Takara Tomy Mall has posted an official listing for Missing Link Ironhide!  First teased about a week ago, this is our best look at its various forms and items included with the figure.  Unlike most of the Missing Link line thus far, this figure "reimagines" a G1-era cartoon-accurate Ironhide toy instead of taking the original G1 toy design and giving it articulation.  Check out the pics below and share your thoughts about it on the BWTF Facebook page!

Lost dreams are linked across time! A virtual reprint of the 'Missing Link' series that may have existed in that era. In the 14th installment, Cybertron's guard, "Ironhide", appears!

In 1984, Ironhide was released in the initial lineup overseas, but sales were postponed when it was introduced in Japan in 1985.
At that time, the product was separated from the car into two mechas, and the robot part was a power loader type that was significantly different from the figure depicted in the anime, and the head was reproduced with a sticker attached to the seat through the windshield.
What if Ironhide's products were made with a heroic concept alongside other Cybertrons at the time, and had a style close to anime? It will be a virtual reprint.

Ironhide transforms from a red Nissan cherry vanette-shaped one-box wagon into a robot.
While maintaining the composition using zinc alloy in some parts,
it can be transformed from a car mode that resembles the products of the time to a robot mode with a heroic appearance in one-piece transformation, and in robot mode, you can freely pose for action.

In addition, as a third mode, it can be transformed into "Respect Mode", which is inspired by the robot mode of the product at the time.
The equipment "drill" that appeared in the anime and the "laser" similar to the old toy are also included with plated parts, and the rocket launcher equipped on the back can be attached and detached from the rocket, and the drill and rocket can be stored inside the backpack.
Some of the patterns that were reproduced on the stickers at the time are reproduced with three-dimensional carving and coloring.
A foil sticker is also included that can be applied as desired.

A "human" (female type) figure of the same type as the one included with the C-11 Delta Magnus (sold separately) is also included, and it is possible to ride in the driver's seat in any mode.
The robot itself also has a "secret emblem" attached, and when you warm it with your finger, the legion mark will appear.
The back of the robot is equipped with a joint hole for the stand, which is sold separately, and can be decorated with action poses.
The package illustration is newly drawn with the image of that time, and a collection card is also included.

*Car mode (Cherry Vanette) is licensed by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
